Why we need your help

Emergency Appeal

This Emergency Appeal enabled the re-opening the Bluebell Railway safely after the period of enforced closure, and now covers some of the ongoing costs of running at greatly reduced capacity.

We have used part of the appeal proceeds to re-engage our volunteers and paid staff to ensure our Railway was fit to reopen, but this incurred substantial costs with little revenue.  The initial target was to raise at least £300,000, but in early June it became apparent that, with the situation continuing to evolve, further support would be required to see us through the autumn months and into early 2021 when our income tends to be lower but we still have bills to pay and overheads to meet, so we need to keep this appeal going and hope people will continue to contribute to our recovery.

So please help us secure the future of the Railway, and DONATE NOW.  Alternative options for making donations directly to the Bluebell Railway Trust are available on our web site.

Full details of the Appeal are available here.

You very kindly added my daughter in with my wife and I for the Fish & Chip supper last Friday. However you forgot to charge. Thus I am donating 30, gift aided.

Visited Horsted Keynes today to see the 1240 depart. As we used the overbridge by the cottages it's only fair we donate given the lovely spectacle.

I grew up in the 1970s in East Grinstead with the viaduct in clear view of my bedroom. I took a trip with my family on the Bluebell Railway some 15 years ago and it was an amazing experience. Please accept my donation to a fantastic cause.
