Why we need your help

Emergency Appeal

This Emergency Appeal is to help fund the immediate costs of re-opening the Bluebell Railway safely after the period of enforced closure.

We will re-engage our volunteers and paid staff to ensure our Railway is fit to run but this will incur substantial costs with little revenue.  The initial target was to raise at least £300,000, but in early June it became apparent that, with the situation continuing to evolve, further support would be required to see us through the summer and into the winter months when our income tends to be lower but we still have bills to pay and overheads to meet, so we need to keep this appeal going and hope people will continue to contribute to our recovery.

So please help us secure the future of the Railway, and DONATE NOW.  Alternative options for making donations directly to the Bluebell Railway Trust are available on our web site.

Full details of the Appeal are available here. Join our Virtual Track Trek on 27 June.

I first visited the railway in about 1966. My wife Becky and I were married in the waiting room at Horsted Keynes in 2008. It was with great joy that we were able to be on the 9.00 am from Sheffield Park yesterday, 7th August.

Thank you for a day we will never forget, the reopening of the line on your 60th birthday. We had put some money aside for a visit in September so wanted it to go towards helping you in the winter months.

I've enjoyed several murder mystery evenings on this train and would hate to see it go!
