Surrey Sports Fund
Why we need your help
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Surrey Sports Fund, which is managed by the Community Foundation for Surrey.
Surrey Sports Fund launched in 2008 to provide support for local projects which promote access and participation in Sport across the county.
Grants are awarded from the fund to help people to access and enjoy sport who are prevented due to:
• A mental or physical disability – for example disabled children who require special equipment to enable them to play a sport
• Social or economic deprivation – for example funding the training of volunteers on a housing estate to become sports coaches for young people
Since 2008, the Fund has awarded 94 grants totalling £193,000. The range of projects shows the incredible opportunities and activities available to people in Surrey, but they rely on philanthropic support to continue and increase their important work.
In the past year we have been incredibly proud to support a number of vital local projects, including a non contact boxing project for people with physical disabilities, a football project for young people living on deprived housing estates, and a pilot project to encourage young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to take part in the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games.
