Imogen's Physiotherapy Campaign

Why we need your help

IMOGEN'S PHYSIOTHERAPY CAMPAIGN

Imogen was born nearly 2 months early and immediately taken to the Neonatal Unit.  From the onset she was a fighter and strong enough to come home in time for Christmas.

When Imogen was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.  Her family were told that Imogen would never be able to sit up or walk by herself, but through dedication to physiotherapy and Imogen's sheer determination, she can now walk short distances with a walker but is still reliant on her wheelchair.

Her family were recently given some amazing news: Imogen has been selected for a life changing operation on the NHS!

This is a surgical procedure performed on the lower spinal cord. The nerves that are causing too much muscle tone and spasticity, are then cut.  This will result in better range of movement and less tension in the muscle.

Without this operation her mobility will decrease and her chance for independence minimised.

The operation will expose Imogen’s muscle weakness and she will require intensive Physiotherapy.

Unfortunately, the NHS cannot fund all of the Physiotherapy so we are as asking you to please help us fundraise to give Imogen the best chance to reach her full potential.

Please give generously!

Poem about Imogen (Written by Becky Leddington)

My little girl is an amazing little girl and each day she brings a new smile to my face.

She is witty and pretty with her curly tot hair and the jokes she makes up are ever so cute.

She composes songs about butterflies (f minor) and is training her toy dogs for Cruft’s.

She always wins eye-spy on a car journey as the polar bears are always hidden under the seat.

On her easel are masterpieces for grandma, with sparking glitter you’ll find.

But our little girl just wants to walk and join her friends and not be left behind.
