Olive Trees for Nablus

Olive Trees for Nablus

Why we need your help

FONSA is planting olive trees in vulnerable villages around Nablus.  Thanks to your donations we have already planted over 5,000 trees in 27 villages.
Benefits:
These trees make a substantial contribution to family income and sustainability. Olives are a traditional crop in Palestine and an important symbol of peace and hope.  Olive harvesting in October is a family time when everyone helps to gather the harvest which is then pressed or preserved.
Boy planting an olive treePartnership: Farmers who can afford it are asked to make a small contribution; this means that even more trees are planted and it becomes a shared project. We want the farmers to ensure they receive trees of good quality which they will look after despite the many difficulties they face.
Trees are planted during the wet season (October-March) but still need watering and protection from animals while they are small and vulnerable.

Additional note:  Charity LogoVirgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation.  It will pass your donation to FONSA along with any Gift Aid for eligible donors who have given their consent. Donations are much appreciated especially by the villages where the trees are planted.
