Wash Doctors for charity water

Why we need your help

charity: water is disrupting the charitable sector with a vision to reinvent charity through a radically transparent model, and a mission to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

Only 51% of people in the UK trust charities and even less - 36% - trust overseas aid charities. (CAF UK Giving Report, 2018)

We want our model to change that: to bring back the joy and hopefulness of giving by connecting it with tangible change.

We know how to bring clean water to every person. Now we have a permanent home in the UK, we ask you to join us in making it happen.

Why we’re different

A 100% model. Every penny of public donations funds water solutions, thanks to private donors who cover all operating costs.

We prove it. GPS coordinates and photos on Google Maps mean that donors see exactly where their money goes

We support local experts. We partner with local organisations on the ground in each country to implement every water project, ensuring each is sustainable and locally-led.

We tell stories. We talk to the people we are bringing water to, and share their stories to show how similar we all are, no matter where we come from.

The charity: water story

Founded in New York City in 2006, we recently established a London presence and registered as a charity in England and Wales. We are thrilled to bring our model to the UK so that together we can end the water crisis.

Since 2006, charity: water has funded more than 28,000 water projects in 26 countries to bring to clean and safe water to 8.2 million people, thanks to more than one million donors around the world.

Wash Doctors for charity: water

Having just opened the charity: water UK office, Wash Doctors felt this was the perfect start-up charity partner. We’re are shaking up the way Londoner's have their cars washed, and this September 16th our team are running the Richmond Half Marathon to raise £7,500 to fund a charity: water project from start to finish.

We know the water crisis is bigger than car washing, and the team are committed to raising as much as we can to help those in need gain access to clean water globally. But, we need your help!

So, let’s work together? For every 4 washes you order, we will donate 5% of all profits made cleaning your cars to charity: water’s global projects, saving over 800L of water in the process. In the meantime, our team will be getting hot and bothered training for the Half Marathon throughout the summer.

We’re very grateful for any donations you can spare. Washes can be ordered using the Wash Doctors app on iOS or Android.
