Young Carers Activities

Why we need your help

Activities for Young Carers
A small donation can make a big difference in the lives of a Young Carer.
We organise a wide range of groups and activities that give Young Carers a break from their caring role and a chance to build up their confidence and social network with other Young Carers. Each of these young people have something special in common – a caring role at home for a parent or sibling with a disability. This can be a long term or life limiting illness, a mental health condition or a substance misuse issue.
How will your donation be used at the Carers Centre?
Peer Support and shared experiences, such as bringing together all Young Carers who have a sibling with an autistic spectrum condition
Sessions to build resilience, such as mindfulness or mental health first aid
Art-based sessions to explore Young Carers’ identities, including songwriting, sculpture, puppet-making and animation
Respite opportunities that include sports activities, bushcraft and trips to theatre, cinemas, restaurants and theme parks
If you are interested in a larger donation, our fundraising team can work with you on a tailored proposal towards specific activities. For more information, contact Tom Lambert, Carers Centre Director at info@carerscentre.org.
