Teams of sixteen paddlers plus a drummer race in a series of heats culminating in finals to determine the first three places. Winners get a trophy and all paddlers in the top three teams get medals. Paddlers raise money from family and friends for local charities. Boats are sponsored by local organisations or groups who can nominate a charity to share the proceeds of the paddlers' fundraising. Sponsors get advertising space in the programme and lakeside. Established funand fundraising day with a typical footfall of over a thousand spectators.

Joining instructions

Paddlers must be able to swim 50 metres WITH buoyancy aid (provided), and be over fourteen years of age. Full details by email from dragonboats17.tg@gmail.com
