Further information

The Great Midlands Fun Run is NOT A RACE. It’s a fun event for people of all ages and abilities. Disability, gender or age are no barriers. As an entrant you are encouraged to contribute towards the key objective, to provide financial support to charities and voluntary organisations, preferably across the Midlands, by collecting sponsorship money for a charity, voluntary organisation or community interest group of your choice. The Fun Run is staged over an 8.5 mile all-tarmac route. The start is in Royal Sutton Coldfield town centre from where, after 2.2 miles you enter Sutton Park at Boldmere Gate, negotiating 4.5 miles in Europe’s largest urban park, including ‘Cardiac Hill before exiting at Four Oak Gate after 6.75 miles before returning to finish in Royal Sutton Coldfield town centre. Everyone person and dog who completes the 8.5 mile course is presented with a uniquely minted Cookes Furniture commemorative medal. The event has generated over £3.35million since 2003 with over £250,000 being raised and distributed to 200 organisations last year. More details can be found by visiting www.greatmidlandsfunrun.org
