Telford Big Sleep Out

17:30, November 22, 2019

Further information

Stay-Telford and Maninplace will be teaming up to create one big fundraising and awareness event that will bring together both previously hosted fundraisers, and a little bit extra in between. Carry the load To start the evening’s proceedings, those who choose can begin with “Carry the load” setting off from Tesco, Hadley Centre at approximately 5:30pm. The sponsored walk will take a 3 mile route to ASDA at Donnington Wood, arriving just before 7pm. Anyone taking part in the walk is encouraged to carry some form of bedding as a representation of the many people who sleep in the streets each night right across England, this could be a sleeping bag, pillow or an inflatable bed. For the hardier people who like a tougher challenge, you can carry a mattress from Hadley to ASDA, which could prove useful later in the evening if you are taking part in sleep out. Mini music festival Once on site at ASDA, Donnington Wood, a mini music pop and rock festival will be taking place from 7pm to 10:30pm showcasing local talent from across Shropshire. We will be listing the acts taking part very soon. Stay Out Following the delights of the musical talents, will be the Stay Out. Everyone participating in the stay out will be able to pitch their home for the night using boxes, tents and any other materials that will help keep them dry and warm (caravans and cars not permitted). The Stay Out will commence at 10:30pm through to 7am. For every participant who makes it to 7am, a medal will await you and be presented by our team of hardy up all night volunteers. To bring some additional fun to the night we will be offering a competition for all entrants staying for the sleep out.
