Pauline's 19-mile Pedal For Pounds (£ not lb!)

Cambridgeshire

09:30, 11 October 2020

Further information

On top of all of its other terrible effects, COVID-19 has disrupted fundraising this year for many charities, including CamSAR. Meanwhile, our workload looks set to increase as the pandemic takes its toll on the country's mental health. Partners of team members are often long-suffering for the amount of time CamSAR takes over in their lives! Despite this, Pauline has kicked off an ambitious plan for an appropriately 19-mile sponsored cycling challenge. Maybe it's all part of some convoluted plan to steal Wayne away from us. The cycle route will be a looped circuit of mainly rural roadways. It'll be a fun, sociable event with refreshments at the half-way point and at the end! If you're on a contraption with one or more wheels (no, not a car) come and join the challenge! Pauline says "I have seen how hard CamSAR’s fundraising has been hit during this ongoing pandemic and wanted to do something to help. This 19 mile route marks the impact of Covid-19 and is achievable for most people so felt it is a wonderful thing to do in the current circumstances."

Joining instructions

Anyone over 18 is welcome to take part! We just ask that participants commit to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship donations towards the cause. There is a maximum of 50 participants; the plan is to start in 3 waves of around 16 riders. Contact us if you'd like more information and leaflets to help you achieve the goal!
