Bourne Christian Centre

Bourne Family Project

In 2002, a group of passionate people from Bourne Christian Centre saw there was a need for emotional, practical and spiritual therapeutic support in their community. As a church, they felt called to extend Christ’s love and compassion to those in crisis and established the Bourne Family Project offering professional, accessible and affordable counselling and therapy for anyone in need.

Our team of therapists give tailored and professional support to each person who comes to the service, based on their needs. Everyone has their own recovery journey, and so we provide a safe environment where everyone can feel valued, heard and empowered.

The reality is most people will need some form of counselling in their lifetime due to the pressures put on us in life. Talking to someone professional can make all the difference, and we believe our creative and talking therapies should be accessible to all. We never want cost to be a barrier and that’s why we rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our services running. Due to having to close our doors during the first lockdown, our current waiting list is approximately a year. We desperately want to reduce this time so everyone gets the support they need as soon as possible. Your kind donation could help us fund additional counselling and therapist hours to do this.

Can you give £10 a month to help bring hope to families and individuals?

£5 a month could help buy art materials needed for a therapy session to help a child dealing with trauma.

£10 can help a sufferer heal from domestic abuse.

£10 a month could pay for one session of therapy or counselling for someone.

£10 can help an individual overcome their anxiety and/or depression.

£15 a month could fund a child to receive a session of Speech and Language therapy helping them communicate effectively.

£25 could fund a therapist for a session with a disadvantaged child including the admin involved

£30 could supply new toys for our therapists to use in a session to help a child express their thoughts and feelings; progressing on their recovery journey.

A one off payment of £160 would pay for a new child therapy kit including sand tray, roleplay toys, paints, puppets and clay, or provide 6 sessions of Creative Therapy to a disadvantaged child.
