Kidney Cancer UK, formerly known as The James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is the UK’s leading specialist kidney cancer charity. It seeks to help reduce the harm caused by kidney cancer by increasing knowledge and awareness, providing patient information and by supporting research into the causes, prevention and treatment of the disease.

Every year in the UK, almost 9,000 people learn that they have kidney cancer. The incidence of kidney cancer is slowly increasing in the UK, possibly due to an increase in the number of cases detected when a patient has a scan for an unrelated condition. This is because scans are performed more frequently in hospitals and there have been huge improvements in scanning technology over the past 30 years. Kidney cancer is now the seventh most common type of cancer in men and ninth among women in the UK.

Please help us to raise awareness to reduce this mortality rate, so people are diagnosed earlier at a more treatable stage.
