Children 1st

Who we are

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity and occupies a unique space in Scottish child welfare.

We work in communities to support children at risk of abuse and neglect. We’ve been making a difference for over 130 years, first as the RSSPCC and now as Children 1st, so we have unrivalled experience and understanding of the problems affecting children, their families and how to help them.

We put children at the heart of everything we do and help Scotland’s families to put children first, with practical advice and support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, we support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.

Anyone caring for or concerned about a child can also contact our free helpline, email and web-chat service, ParentLine Scotland on 08000 28 22 33.

Some children have little to smile about. We’re determined to give them reasons to.
