Who we are
Norwood is a leading charity supporting thousands of vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities and autism.
Norwood believes that every child, irrespective of ability or circumstance, deserves the best start in life and those with learning disabilities have an equal right to enjoy independent, meaningful and inclusive adult lives.
Norwood’s mission is to promote the wellbeing and stability of our community’s children and families by providing support through difficult times. For those with learning challenges, we extend this support throughout life, and provide access to education and opportunities for people to develop, grow and lead independent lives. Norwood is committed to challenging the status quo and creating new ways of thinking about family health, wellbeing and disability.
We are the only Jewish charity in the UK to enjoy the Patronage of Her Majesty The Queen.
We employ over 1250 staff and are supported by more than 750 volunteers.
Norwood has been serving the community for more than 200 years – from looking after Jewish orphans and the poor, to its modern role as a lifeline to families in crisis and acting as a second family so that no one has to feel alone. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists works with the whole family for as long as they need our support.
We can deliver life-changing services to over 4,000 people each year across London and the South East within a warm and caring Jewish setting.
Norwood needs to raise £12m per annum from the community.
|Norwood is committed to extending its reach and effectiveness in championing children, campaigning for inclusion and creating new ways of thinking about disability. Norwood strives to enable as many people as we can to achieve more than they ever thought possible.|
Together, we can make sure that no one in our community has to face a crisis or disability alone. Together, we can support the most vulnerable people to lead brighter lives.
