The ST. JAMES’S PLACE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is a thriving grant making charity linked to the St James’s Place Wealth Management Group. The Charitable Foundation is one of the most successful charities in the corporate sector raising £50 million since inception.

The vast majority of income for the Charitable Foundation is raised by the employees, financial advisers and others connected with the St James’s Place Group. Over 80% of the St James’s Place community contribute to the Charitable Foundation on a monthly basis. All funds raised by members of the St. James's Place community are matched pound for pound by the company, thus doubling any contributions received. In addition, the company meets all the costs and expenses of running the Charitable Foundation, so all the money raised goes to the good causes the Charitable Foundation supports.

Who We Support

We have a strong history of helping children and young people whose lives have been adversely affected by disability or illness, as well as those who are disadvantaged or who have been marginalised. We also support the Hospice sector and charities working with people suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Below are some of the charities the Charitable Foundation has supported:

Hope and Homes for Children

Their mission is to give hope to the poorest children in the world – those who are orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable – by enabling them to grow up within the love of a family and the security of a home, so that they can fulfill their potential. In December 2011 the Charitable Foundation donated a total of £655,000 towards a project over the next three years; preventing children in Romania from separation; enabling children to leave care and return to their communities; increasing the quality of care for those in alternative services and facilitating the closure of the St Spiridon Institution. Hope and Homes are working alongside the Romanian government to reform the childcare system and bring about the closure of all remaining institutions in Romania by 2020.

Panathlon

The Charitable Foundation has committed to a 3 year Sport for Good project which hopes to leverage the “buzz” created by the 2012 Olympics by creating a lasting legacy for disadvantaged young people. It is important to stress that the Foundation’s funding is focused on making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of young people most at risk and it is not about creating future athletes.

The Charitable Foundation has granted £265,000 to Panathlon as part of the Sport for Good project over the next three years. This will enable Panathlon to extend its reach to inspire disabled young people all over Britain to gain confidence, reach their potential and achieve positive outcomes.
