The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain
Who we are
We are the world’s first youth theatre
As the first youth theatre in the world we’ve changed hundreds of thousands of young lives in our 65 year history, broken new ground by giving youth a voice on world-leading stages at home and abroad, and offered a creative home and place for many young people to find themselves and be themselves.
In that 65 year history we’ve faced some huge challenges, financially and culturally as we’ve fought to make theatre something any young person can be part of no matter where they’re from or what their background is.
The challenge that we now all face is perhaps greater than anything that’s gone before.
We continue to be as ambitious as the young people we serve
The Covid-19 restrictions on travel and public gatherings have forced NYT to pivot and to change our style of delivery. We quickly repurposed our auditions and training courses for online delivery and these have been very successful.
Since the beginning of lockdown in March 2020, we have delivered over 2,000 hours+ of interactive online activity, creating 20,000 opportunities+ and reaching a wider online audience of 10 + million.

Now more than ever, we need your help to secure our future and the futures of the young people across Brtiain that we proudly serve.
