The best possible quality of life

We are Dementia Matters, a charity that provides specialist care and independent supported living for people living with dementia.

Why choose Dementia Matters?

By choosing our services you are choosing the best. We offer the highest standards of support, both physically and emotionally.

We offer

  • Independent Supported Living - a small group independent supported living model of care, unique to people with dementia. We provide homes where four or five people live together within a 'family' atmosphere, supported by our highly trained and dedicated staff in a safe and secure environment.
  • Home care services to people living in Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and parts of Northumberland. Our home support is tailored to each client's individual needs. The care includes help around the house, companionship, personal care, support with medication, shopping and cooking, household duties and support for trips out. Calls start at 30 minutes a day, up to a full 24 hours of 1:1 support.
  • Specialist day centres in Newcastle upon Tyne. The centres offer a full range of activities, including exercise classes, shared reminiscing, singing and musical activities, arts and crafts and cookery. We encourage people to retain existing skills and to develop new interests. People can choose what they want to be involved in and we will help them to get the most out of their time at the centres.
  • Residential Respite Care in our dementia-designed, five-bedroom (en-suite) respite centre, in Brunswick Village. People with dementia can spend quality time, supported by friendly and highly trained staff, taking full advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities in our specialist, on-site Day Centre.

Our services are designed to help people with dementia and their families remain as independent as possible for as long as possible, and to help make their day to day lives easier.
