Watford Mencap

Who we are

Watford Mencap supports over 800 people with learning disabilities and their families in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere. We believe that people with learning disabilities have the right to enjoy equal opportunities and be valued as members of society, enabling them to lead the kind of life they want for themselves.

We are affiliated to national Mencap but are completely self-funding.

We offer advice and advocacy, children's clubs and playschemes, youth clubs, community support services, leisure activities and residential support.

Please make a donation or raise sponsorship to enable people with a learning disability, and their families, to live the life they choose.

£35 could enable a child with a learning disability to attend one After School Activities session at our fully accessible Centre.

£75 could enable an adult with a learning disability to attend a 10 week ICT course.

£100 could pay for a teenager to attend sessions at our Youth Club for a whole month.  This is the only local youth club that caters for the needs of teenagers with learning disabilities.

£645 could pay for 15 children to go by coach to an Adventure Playground for disabled children.
