Back Off - supporting clinic safe zones
Everyday women across the UK are harassed and intimidated whilst they seek medical treatment.
Fanatical campaigners are increasingly protesting outside UK abortion clinics, confronting and intimidating women who are attempting to access a legal healthcare service in confidence. Shouted at, bullied and even filmed- this has to stop. Many protesters confront women in clinic entrances or follow them, making women feel threatened.
Imagine if you were filmed or threatened when accessing medical treatment. No one else experiences this kind of bullying or intrusion when accessing healthcare. Reproductive health choices are sensitive and personal and should be made in private.
It distresses healthcare workers too. Nurses and staff are also being targeted with some workers being followed.
We can end the intimidation. We believe in freedom of speech but the space outside clinics is not the place for protests. With your help we can establish intimidation-free zones outside centre.
Your support can help us campaign for a change in legislation. Your gift today can help us lobby for legislation that ensures women can access pregnancy advice without any interference or bullying.
