Nelson's Journey

Who we are

Nelson’s Journey provides support to Norfolk’s bereaved children and young people. Our vision is that every bereaved child in Norfolk will look forward to a positive future, empowered to reach their full potential.

Experiencing bereavement in childhood can lead to several risks including school absenteeism, substance abuse, self-harm, youth offending and poor mental health. But such outcomes are not inevitable, and risks can be reduced with the right support in place.
Since 1997, Nelson’s Journey has helped thousands of children and young people to see their lives more positively following the death of a significant person.
“I have become more open and can talk about the people who have died and I can be happier in myself" – young person supported by Nelson’s Journey"

 How your contribution helps

Nelson’s Journey does not receive big funding from government, councils or health services. We rely on the support of the local community to provide our services free of charge to families when they’re in need of help.

Thanks to the efforts of fundraisers and donors we can provide a range of services including: therapeutic weekends; activity days; 1:1 support; and resources, information and guidance to parents, carers and professionals.

To keep informed of our work, please sign up to our email newsletter at:

(Our E-Newsletter is sent out occasionally, you can unsubscribe at any time – and we will never sell your details to anyone else for their marketing purposes).
