Who we are
The Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (“BRTUK”) is a UK registered charity established to carry out various forms of regeneration work throughout Sylhet, and other parts of Bangladesh. The city of Sylhet is situated in the North Eastern region of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh belongs to the poorest group of countries in the world with around 160 million people living on a small piece of densely populated land. The World Bank's World Development Indicators puts Bangladesh in 170th place (out of 207 countries) in the global ranking of gross national income per capita. Bangladesh is characterised by extreme poverty, with the majority of the people living below the poverty line with no access to adequate healthcare and no means of earning.
BRTUK provides a platform for you to support various projects, primarily within Sylhet but extending to other parts of Bangladesh as well.
BRTUK focuses efforts on the three key areas of development:
- Promoting education
- Creating livelihood schemes
- Supporting healthcare
We have built a primary school and a women's college in a rural part of Bangladesh, providing much needed education facilities and need your support. Please help us to provide the basic facilities to teach under-privileged children.
Our Student Investment Programme (SIP) seeks to recruit the most talented, but extremely poor students and support their life journey to become a qualified professional in their chosen field, such as teaching, medical or engineering. please donate whatever you can to support this highly needed work to develop and allevaite poverty in Bangladesh.
