Who we are

Salford Heart Care is a registered charity and is unique to Salford.  No other organisation offers the package of support and care available at Salford Heart Care.

Established in 1987, our organisation offers vital support to enable people to improve their health and well-being and to help prevent heart-related problems.  We also provide after-care to those with heart-related or long-term conditions, and support for families and carers. We also launched our first Bereavement Support Group in June 2018 and can now offer support for people living with bereavement.

We have 4 Healthy Heart Clubs and 1 Bereavement Support Group operating across the City of Salford. Our Healthy Heart Clubs offer a range of activities including dancing and exercise, tai chi, relaxation and stress managment, holistic therapies, indoor games, computer access, blood pressure and pulse testing, and weight management support. We encourage our volunteers to take an active role, and there are social activities and trips including an annual group holiday.

Our Bereavement Support Group has fully trained and qualified counsellors with one to one counselling appointments available. The group is supported by our team of volunteers who are also living with bereavement.

We work in partnership with community organisations and health professionals and organise informative presentations on a regular basis to enable people to self-care and improve their health and well-being.
