New Hope has been compassionately and practically helping people experiencing homelessness in Watford since 1990. Through a variety of services, we walk alongside people every step of the way from street homelessness to independent living. We treat each person as an individual; those who access our services are first and foremost people – men and women who for a variety of reasons have ended up street homeless in Watford.
Our provision begins with our intervention services which build relationships and offer support to people who are street homeless, our recovery services include accommodation for up to 46 people; finally, our prevention services support people new to independent living so that they maintain their tenancies.
Last year we helped 620 individuals. The majority (68%) were from the UK. The average age was 40 and 80% were male. 22% misused alcohol, 29% misused substances and 46% experienced mental health difficulties.
