Trafford Hospitals

Trafford Hospitals play an important role in the history of the National Health Service (NHS) with Trafford General, formerly known as Park Hospital, being where the NHS was born in 1948, changing the healthcare of the nation forever.

Trafford General, Altrincham General and Stretford Memorial Hospital are at the heart of their communities providing a variety of outpatient and inpatient services to the local population.

Now Trafford General is a busy, modern hospital, while there are plans to redevelop Altrincham General so that they can provide world class care in a more modern and patient friendly environment.
