Friends of Conservation (FOC) is a UK registered charity with more than 35 years conservation experience in the field, aiming to protect wildlife at risk from threats including poaching and loss of habitat. We work closely with rural communities living near Kenya’s renowned ‘Masai Mara’ Reserve offering practical support.

For example, our network of community rangers conducts regular patrols aiming to combat bush meat poaching and other illegal activities. We are committed to environmental education and have established a number of Conservation Clubs in schools, enabling students to participate in activities, including tree-planting, bee-keeping and litter clean-ups, all aimed at raising awareness of conservation issues.

We also advocate the use of renewable fuels such as biogas to help conserve precious forest habitat and organise workshops to support women’s groups with business skills and help raise awareness of HIV/Aids and other health issues.

In addition to our own operations, FOC also supports like minded conservation partners working to protect endangered species in other African countries, including Tanzania and Namibia, as well as in Asia and South and Central America.
