Founded in 1979 at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, Oracle Cancer Trust funds pioneering early-stage research to discover new, more effective treatments for head and neck cancer.

Head and neck cancer is the sixth most common cancer globally, but receives less than 2% of research funding. The incidence of head and neck cancer is the third fastest growing of all cancer types and is showing a particularly worrying increase in the under-50's.

What's more, head and neck cancers and current treatments can have damaging side effects, affecting a patient's ability to speak, eat or swallow.

Funds are urgently needed to find more effective treatments and improve cure rates whilst significantly reducing, or even eliminating, side effects.

Over the past five years, Oracle has dedicated over £2million to fund world class research programmes and thanks to research directly funded by Oracle, more patients are receiving better treatments with fewer side effects.

The majority of Oracle's funded research projects are undertaken at The Royal Marsden and at The Institute of Cancer Research. Each Oracle project is independently assessed and approved by the Oracle Research Committee.

Oracle currently funds ten pioneering cancer research projects. Our aim is to increase this number to 18 by the end of 2019.

Help us to make our next ground-breaking discovery.
