Founded in 1979 at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, Oracle Cancer Trust funds pioneering early-stage research to discover new, more effective treatments for head and neck cancer.

Head and neck cancer is the sixth most common cancer globally, but receives less than 2% of research funding. Head and neck cancer is the third fastest growing type of cancer and with cases up by 75% over the past twenty years there is an urgent need to discover newer and kinder treatments.

Head and neck cancer was mainly associated with smoking and alcohol use, but is now increasingly affecting younger patients due to the HPV virus.  Current treatments for head and neck cancer can result in lifelong side effects such as difficulties swallowing, eating and speaking.

Over the past five years, Oracle has dedicated over £5million to fund world class research programmes and thanks to research directly funded by Oracle, more patients are receiving better treatments with fewer side effects.

Oracle funds research at leading scientific research institutions in the UK and is currently funding 20 projects in areas including radiotherapy, immunotherapy, virus therapies, drug discoveries and swallowing and taste studies.

With your support, help us make our next pioneering discovery.
