The Pelican Post

The Pelican Post

The Pelican Post currently supports classroom libraries for several schools in the Elmina region in Ghana through its partner charity the Sabre Trust.

Next Pelican Post flight depature date: 18 August 2012

Any donation will have a direct and immediate impact on learning within that school.

Just £5 will provide a partnering school with a brand new copy of a childrens story book.

You will be effectively leaving a legacy for countless generations of classrooms to discover the joy of reading through your donation.  If you also sumbit your name and a message, we will also ensure that this message is also included inside your book.

Just £100 will provide a school with 20 copies of the same childrens story and supporting teaching aids so that teachers can practice shared classroom reading and the children can discover the joy of reading.

All books featured on the scheme have been selected in close consultation with other charities, supporting publishers and partner organisations.  The books are in english and all are culturally appropriate for african children.  We are currently exploring further opportunities to develop local language imprints of some of the books featured.
