3rd Farnham Scout Group
Who we are
3rd Farnham Scout Group has been established for over 100 years. It delivers a vital service providing adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for young people in Central and East Farnham. In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing', when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. This is an approach which has been successfully adopted in the last 10 years with 3rd Farnham doubling its membership and looking to continue to grow.
Our modest subscription fees mean that we rely on fundraising to make up the shortfall so that we can run exciting and challenging programmes for all our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. All our sections camp every year - sometimes up to 3-4 times a year - with tents, cooking gear and equipment all regularly needing to be replaced or updated. Our Scout Hall, Daniel Hall, has recently undergone a major renovation and is now a thriving hub of the community. We want to keep it that way and make it better so funding is required for maintenance, repairs and improvements.
Fundraising also allows us to subsidise, as much as possible, extra equipment or transport to support our active programmes across all groups.
