In 1984, a Union Carbide plant in Bhopal, India, leaked 27 tons of deadly toxic gas. 25,000 have died to date as a result of the contamination and more than 120,000 people still suffer from chronic illness. For the survivors your donation will make a huge difference because the two clinics which we fund, the Sambhavna and the Chingari Trust, are the only places that provide free healthcare for those exposed to the gas as well as the ongoing contaminations of the water supply. The Sambhavna Clinic and the Chingari Trust, funded by the Bhopal Medical Appeal, together have lovingly treated 40,000 patients to date. This would not have been possible without the generous and kind donations and fundraising of people from around the world. We also campaign to make Union Carbide and DOW Chemical accountable for the disaster and to take responsibility for cleaning up the factory site.
