Our aim is to improve access to justice for the most vulnerable in society
We do this by raising funds and distributing them to organisations that support those who need legal help but cannot afford it. Receiving legal advice makes an enormous difference to people’s lives, helping to reduce debt, poverty and suffering.
We provide funding and support to charities that give free legal help to those in need
We work closely with the advice and pro bono sector and take a strategic approach to the distribution of funding, accounting for local, regional and national needs to target resources where they are most needed.
We distribute funds to pro bono organisations, strategic regional projects and to local advice agencies such as Citizens Advice Bureaux and Law Centres.
The people we help
How you can help
It has never been more important to find funding for the free legal advice sector. From specialist local advice agencies to the national pro bono clearing houses, the role of these organisations is crucial in channelling lawyers’ commitment to help the public in the most effective way. And they need funds to do that.

Who we are
The Access to Justice Foundation (ATJF) works in partnership with the network of 9 Legal Support Trusts across the United Kingdom. We provide funding and support to charities that give free legal help to those in need
What We Do
We organise 30 Legal Walks across the country which aim to bring thousands of justice supporters together to raise funds for local legal advice services. Teams of local lawyers will come together with members of the community to support local advice services such as Citizens Advice Bureau and Law Centres.
