We support people throughout their lives from starting with families that have newly diagnosed babies and are struggling to come to terms that their child has a lifelong condition that has no cure. As these babies become children and teenagers, they start to explore the world and often struggle to keep up with injecting themselves 3 times a day with treatment while at university or taking a gap year and seeing the world, this can lead to them having severe bleeds in their joints, not allowing them to take part like everyone else and potentially leading to joint damage in later life. Those over 40 and the elderly have probably suffered the most, having received contaminated blood from the NHS in the 70’s and 80s and many have HIV and/or Hepatitis C meaning that most are now suffering with comorbidities. There are so many needs for this rare community and we are the only ones there to support them in any way we can.
