NaCOT National Centre for the Oral Tradition
Who we are
NaCOT - the National Centre for the Oral Tradition (poetry, storytelling and the the spoken word) was formed to create the UK's first dedicated national home for the spoken word - a village of authentic 'original' buildings to celebrate, nurture and house the ancient tradition that has carried our culture for tens of thousands of years. We present the best in public performance, including poetry, storytelling, acapella singing and talks, while putting story and poetry to work in the community. We offer arts-based education for children, adults and organizations, and provide outreach work for the disadvantaged and the unheard, including work with children, troubled youth, distressed ex-service personnel and the elderly.
