Who we are

Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Association (IA) is a registered charity whose primary aim is to help people living with an ileostomy or an ileo-anal pouch; their familiy, friends or carers. Through a wealth of literature, our quartly magazine, sharing best practice or one of IA's visitors, we support people recovering from surgery and help them to return to life, doing the things that they enjoy. Things that can seem a lifetime away if they have been suffering ill health for a while or perhaps have been through emergency surgery with no prior indication that surgery was required.

Thank you... Through your kindness and donation we can help people by providing support at a time that they feel isolated, vulnerable, embarrassed, scared and perhaps angry. Emotions that many people undergoing bowel surgery may face at some stage as they face the reality of living life with an ileostomy or an internal pouch.

Donations made via Virgin Money Giving will be credited to the General fund of the national IA charity unless instructions to the contrary are given. If donors wish to donate to their local IA group, they should make a note of this in the message box provided during the donation process.
