UK Friends of Abraham's Path
Who we are
Through education and information, UKFAP aims to support the growing network of Middle Eastern hiking trails which follow the legendary stories of Abraham/Ibrahim.
We encourage and help British walkers in their journeys to experience the beautiful landscapes, traditional hospitality and deep friendship of the people who live there; and so to bring home the values and practices of trust, openness, inclusiveness, listening and hospitality.
Our fundraising has three aims:
to support local projects and people who work at developing and sustaining the trails;
to promote education about walking in the Middle East and about the values of Abraham/Ibrahim.
to lead journeys and offer bursaries to help people in the UK experience the Middle East in this way.
In 2020/21 we are particularly fundraising for the Zagros Trail in Iraqi Kurdistan; and for Bedouin initiatives in the Sinai.
