Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust

Who we are

The Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust was formed in 1994 to relieve the suffering and distress of Rhodesian Ridgebacks who are in need of help and to provide re-homing if necessary. Go to our website, www.rrwt.org, to learn about us and see the Rhodesian Ridgebacks in urgent need of a new home.

What We Do

The bulk of our work is finding new homes for pure-bred Ridgebacks which, for a variety of reasons, are unable to remain with their owners. We have developed procedures which with careful home-checking and dog assessment, aim to place each individual dog in an appropriate home for the rest of its life. We promote responsible Rhodesian Ridgeback ownership and discouragement of the irresponsible breeding of the breed.

Why We Need Your Help

The Welfare Trust is entirely dependent on the generosity of you and is supported in its work by volunteers throughout the country who assess dogs, check homes and help with transport, emergency kennelling or fostering. We provide or maintain kennels, rescue homes, animal hospitals, sanctuaries or other facilities for the reception and care of unwanted Rhodesian Ridgebacks together with veterinary care if required.
