Johnstone Band was formed in 1834 by workers in the local textile mills in the area. It's one of the UK's oldest brass bands. Over the years, the band has grown in strength and regularly compete in many UK-wide contests. The band competes in the First Section.

The band is absolutely delighted with it's win at the First Section Scottish Brass Band Championships in Perth on 10th March 2018, and looking forward to representing Scotland at the National Brass Band Championships in September at Cheltenham. Please support the band along the journey.
