Riverside Counselling Service is a registered charity that supports adults & young people (from 12 years) who have a range of mental health issues and conditions. The organisation is based in Henley-on-Thames, and also operates from premises in Wallingford, Berinsfield and Didcot. Our counsellors see over 125 clients a week supporting a range of mental health issues including depression and anxiety , relationship issues, loss and bereavement, as well as many other difficulties.

‘The Space’ is a dedicated counselling service for young people aged 12- 25 years. It was developed in 2015 in response to a growing need to support the mental health and well-being of young people in the area.

Estimates show one in four people are experiencing a mental health problem yet some receive no treatment at all. Riverside is trying to change this and provides affordable counselling, group  therapy, as well as drop-in centres and workshops  within the community.  Riverside, works closely with schools, GPs and other health and community services.

Riverside is the only service of its kind within the area and demand is constantly increasing. It’s aim is to provide affordable mental health care and  to have a positive impact on people’s mental health within the community.

Our services are accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and counsellors abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
