Bob Champion was diagnosed with cancer in two parts of his body at the height of his riding career and the dream that kept him going through the long months of chemotherapy, was that one day he might win the Grand National on Aldaniti, against the odds in 1981 his dream came true. The interest and enthusiasm generated by racing’s greatest fairytale led to the foundation in 1983 of the Bob Champion Cancer Trust. Since then much has been achieved by the Trust and its work into testicular and prostate cancer continues to give hope to thousands of men affected by cancer each year.
