RASASC Guildford Limited
Who we are
We are RASASC- Rape and sexual abuse support centre.
Our Queen's Award-winning charity has been supporting victims of rape and sexual abuse since 1992. Our mission is two-fold; firstly, to walk alongside survivors of rape and sexual abuse so that they begin to cope and recover from the trauma they have experienced and can rebuild their lives. Secondly, we strive to educate the community in which we operate to enable them to better understand the impact and scale of rape and sexual abuse.
Who we support
We support both male and female survivors of rape and sexual abuse who are aged 13 and above. We cover the whole of Surrey and the surrounding areas.
In 2019 we supported over 3000 local survivors of rape and sexual abuse. These included young people aged 13 and above and older people who had, for the first time, come forward for support to overcome abuse suffered in childhood. We also delivered a Telephone Helpline for survivors across the UK. Currently, our youngest client is just 13 whilst our oldest is currently 86.
Queen's Award for Voluntary Service
In 2018 we awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service which is equivalent to the MBE for the voluntary sector.
