Shared Lives South West
Who we are
Shared Lives South West is a fantastic award winning regional charity operating in Devon and Cornwall since 2004. Through our network of over 250 amazing families we support people with a learning disability, older people, people with dementia, people with mental health problems and vulnerable parents. We are passionate about what we do, and we only do Shared Lives.
Shared Lives services are all about our Shared Lives carers sharing their lives, their home, their interests, and their caring skills and experience with other people who need some help and support to live their lives to the full. People share all aspects of home and family life and are supported to be active in their local community, whether on a on full time basis or for respite and short breaks. Its a unique and very personal sort of social care which focusses on what the individual wants and needs.
Our Shared Lives carers are amazing and always go the extra mile for the people they support, and create opportunities and experiences for disabled and vulnerable people they otherwise just might not get. Shared Lives works because it is based on friendship, love, caring and sharing. It works because it gives people a life not a limited care service and it works because our carers see it as a way of life, not just a job and do this work because they love to see the huge difference they can make to someone's life.
Shared Lives South West is very proud of all our carers and is here to support them in their amazing gift of sharing their home and family life with others.
