The Farming Community Network
Who we are
The Farming Community Network (FCN) is a voluntary organisation and charity that offers support to farmers and farming families at times of stress and difficulties.
Farming is an inherently risky and volatile industry to work in and can be a very isolating and lonely occupation. Farmers often spend long hours out in the field with little or no form of social interaction. Suicide rates in farming are among the highest of any occupational group.
Farmers are regularly forced to deal with issues on the farm that are beyond their control, such as animal disease, fluctuating market prices and the weather.
FCN is a network of over 400 volunteers covering most of England and Wales, many of whom are involved in farming, or have close links with agriculture and therefore have a great understanding of the issues farm workers and farming families regularly face.
The FCN telephone Helpline 03000 111999 is available every day of the year 7.00am - 11.00pm and there is an e-Helpline firstname.lastname@example.org for those who prefer to make contact electronically.
