The Corner House is a Mental Health Resource Centre based in the heart of Southwick; established since 1982. It is for anyone in the Adur district who is affected by mental illness, whether experiencing symptoms themselves, or supporting a friend or family member. The service is open 7 days a week. The vision of The Corner House is to deliver excellent services with and for people in our community whose lives are touched by mental illness. The centre provides a safe haven, enables a positive sense of well-being; optimising individual independence. The service accepts both self-referrals and referrals from the Community Mental Health team. We offer a service to help the person identify what will improve their mental wellbeing; we also offer mental health information, advice, signposting and a 'hands on' mental health service. This includes an initial meeting, where you will be offered a choice of options and a discussion to support your support needs and goals. A range of activities are available. We offer 1:1 appointments to draw up an individualised support plan to enable you to set yourself some achievable goals and start working towards them. We can support you to do this in a variety of ways including identified support in the community. We can help you access other specialist services such as clinical counselling, and advice on specific benefits, personal care. Some activities are based in the cafe area where you can also enjoy use of the fabulous 'Good Food Corner' facilities. For those of you eligible for social care funding an enhanced support package can be offered. For further information contact 01273 871575, or or visit the website:
