Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund

Who we are

The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund was set up by the Wilson family following the death of their daughter Lisa in Nov 2002 whilst travelling in Australia. Lisa had just graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA 2-1 in Business Management and her reward to herself for her hard work was a trip around the world that sadly ended in tragedy.

The charity provides bursaries to young adults who have overcome adversity or can demonstrate why they need additional funding to enable them to fulfil their educational dreams and ambitions in the way Lisa did. To date the charity has raised over £270,000 and given bursaries to some 90 young adults. This has now become Lisa's Legacy, 270 years of education as every £1000 represents a year in a students life.

For more information on the charity visit or The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund page on facebook. lisathedaddy was Lisa's e-mail address and now the home of the charity website - Lisa was 'The Daddy". She would walk into a room and light it up with her smile, she had a wicked sense of humour and loved to dance. She was full of adventure and did a freefall parachute jump and one of the biggest bungy jumps in the world in New Zealand.

To date a university racing boat, a power boat and four racehorses named in her memory, Lisathedaddy, Lisa's Legacy, Who'sthedaddy and now in training is Socrates.
