Who we are
We provide an emergency accommodation and support service on East Road, open 24/7, 365 days per year. This is the only direct access accommodation service that anyone sleeping rough on the street can walk into. We offer 26 beds with 24 hour access, hot meals, essential items such a clothes and toiletries, a wide range of activities, and support to help people deal with the challenges to help move on. In winter on the coldest or wettest nights, we provide an additional 20 beds, meals, essential items and support, in a local community hall.
Our Controlled Drinking Project on Newmarket Road provides accommodation and support to 6 people who have been sleeping rough. We offer the same services as our centre on East Road, plus more specialist support around recovery from alcohol addiction.
We recognise that some people need support for much longer, therefore we have 9 shared houses where people can stay for up to 2 years while we help them deal with their challenges and find permanent accommodation. Plus we are taking on 6 new modular homes later in the year. We also provide support to people once they move on from Jimmy’s. Our help does not stop.
Jimmy’s remains open during the pandemic to provide essential services to those most in need. It’s a challenging time for us, and we are very grateful for your support.
