DMSF was co-founded by Commonwealth Games gold medallist Diane Modahl, who represented Great Britain in four Olympic Games from 1988 – 2000. Her early experiences as a young person from a deprived community, inspired her to establish a youth foundation to help those most in need.

At DMSF we utilise the power and disciplines of physical activity to give young people opportunities to enjoy sport, to challenge them and develop resilience, focus and commitment.

Far too few young people – particularly in deprived areas – have access to good sporting facilities, coaches and role models.   More importantly many young people don’t have the confidence to put themselves forward in the first place.

We are passionate about providing young people with a sense of purpose through sport and beyond - into education and employment.

We need your help please.  We rely on building partnerships with like minded organisations and people like you, who want to make a positive impact on the community and contribute to local skills, training and education. This enables our team to go out and do what we do best.  Turning barriers into opportunities to cross the DMSF Blue Line.
