Beyond The Horizon Charity

Who we are

Beyond the Horizon Charity supports children, young people and families who have been affected by loss, bereavement or domestic abuse. Working across Birmingham the organisation provides one to one counselling, family counselling and group support to children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18. The Charity endeavours to make itself as accessible as possible by providing support in a location convenient for the child/family.

We have skilled and experienced Counsellors and Therapists who can help children and young people to express their grief or loss experience in a safe, therapeutic way.  Therapists support children in developing coping mechanisms, promoting positive self esteem and confidence.

The affect of bereavement and loss can impact so greatly on children and young people often because they feel unable to share how they feel with those around them. Parents and family members are often grieving themselves. Families who are separating unfortunately rarely do so amicably and those affected by domestic abuse are often only just in a place of safety. We know that children/young people often hold on to their own feelings, they worry about causing further distress to those around them and so their mental health and emotional wellbeing suffers.  Beyond the Horizon Charity is there for these children.
