The Gloriana Trust

The Gloriana Trust

Who we are

Gloriana, The Queen’s Rowbarge, was built to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and to be a lasting legacy to the British people and the Commonwealth.

Gloriana is an inspiration for national pride, a showcase for traditional British boat-building and craftsmanship, and a means of encouraging people, especially young people, to engage with the River Thames and the sport of rowing.

At the heart of this legacy is Gloriana's charitable status and charitable role. The barge:

  • inspires, rewards and educates young people through rowing, especially those with social disadvantage or disabilities. Gloriana will help introduce young people to the exciting experience of rowing and life on the river.
  • promotes the River Thames and its rowing fraternity, by attending events, like the Great River Race, Tudor Pull and Henley Royal Regatta, as well as national sporting occasions like the Olympic Torch Relay or Commonwealth Baton Relay
  • promotes London and its seafaring and marine history and industry, and attends London and State events for local and British Government.

In order for Gloriana to continue her work out and about on the River Thames, we need to keep her in pristine condition for future generations.

By making a donation to The Gloriana Trust today you will become a part of a special group who are honouring our heritage for future generations.

Everywhere Gloriana goes she brings delight and joy to people who see her and those privileged enough to row her, and we wish to continue this work for many years to come.
