Max's Foundation CIO
Who we are
At the beginning of January 2015, our gorgeous, smiling boy Max, passed away aged 10, suddenly and without warnng from an undetected heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
The effect on us and everybody who knew him has been profound and heartbreaking and we decided that we wanted to help stop this happening to anybody else. We set up Max's Foundation to help fund research into detecting heart conditions, such as cardiomyopathy, in preadolescent children and help provide support to the children and their families.
We are currently in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Together we are fundraising for the Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the largest centre in the UK dedicated to the evaluation and management of the full range of inherited cardiac conditions in children.
So far we are funding a Research Nurse for the Department for a 5 year contract and we have bought some essential and desperately needed machinery including an Infrared spectroscopy machine, an ECG monitor and some ambulatory heart monitors.
We are also in partnership with Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. We are funding their sibling support programme for ages 14-18 for a 3 year period and Bereavement Counsellling Training for 3 years.
We are continually working to raise money for these amazing causes and we have other projects in the pipeline.

Thank you so much for support and helping us to make a difference.
