Crew DJ workshop

Crew helps thousands of people make better choices about alcohol, drugs and sexual health and transforms the lives of our most vulnerable...

Crew exists to reduce harm, challenge perceptions and help people make positive choices about their use of drugs and alcohol by providing non-judgmental, credible and up to date information and support. Crew specialises on the use of cannabis, ecstasy and club drugs, along with new psychoactives like Spice.

Last summer over 5,000 people accessed a Crew service face to face, the majority at festivals where 157 needed crisis support. 400 received direct support in our shop for drug, sexual health or mental health concerns, and 290 school children from vulnerable areas attended our workshops.

Depending on the service, 65 to 85% reported increased confidence and knowledge to make more responsible choices about drugs, alcohol and sexual health.

Approximately 150 people per year attend up to 20 sessions of counselling at Crew, including couples and “significant others” supporting someone who is using problematically. The majority have suffered trauma or abuse. 50% reduce or stabilise their drug use while 47% stop altogether.

Each year Crew trains 2,000 professionals from the NHS, Police Scotland, Criminal Justice, Education, Housing, front line drugs workers and volunteers while Crew expert witnesses report to Scottish courts in over 50 drugs cases.

Crew has twice won the GSK Impact Award for services to health as chosen by the prestigious Kings Fund and is consulted by the Scottish Government and organisations nationally and internationally on policy and best practice.
