Action for Conservation uses pioneering approaches to engage and inspire young people to become the next generation of nature conservationists. 79% of children lack adequate connection to nature, making them less likely to protect it as adults. We partner with conservation organisations such as the National Trust and the Wildlife Trusts to inspire and empower young people, aged 12-18, across the UK to take action locally and revitalise conservation. Action for Conservation is led by an outstanding Board, including the renowned conservationist and Founding Director of the University of Oxford’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, David Macdonald CBE, and the best-selling and prize-winning author on nature, landscape and place, Robert Macfarlane, and a team of Special Advisors, including Dame Helen Ghosh DCB, Director General of the National Trust.
